Overview:
Dogwood Landscaping, Pools, and Patios partnered with the Schultz Family to transform their backyard, turning it into a functional and beautiful space. This project involved the installation of a new paver patio and a segmental retaining wall, with additional work to restore the surrounding areas. The family wanted a practical outdoor area for their growing children, replacing the previous play area with a new basketball court and seating area.

Project Highlights:

• Site Access and Preparation: We started by finding access to the rear of the property via a community cart path and removing a fence panel to bring in our smaller machinery for the demolition work.
• Site Demo: The existing play area, including failing timber retaining walls and old mulch, was removed to make room for a fresh layout.
• New Installation: New Belgard brand retaining walls were installed, along with over 750 square feet of tumbled Belgard pavers, creating a durable and stylish outdoor space.
• Pathway Creation: We extended the pavers in a pathway to connect the new play/basketball area to the existing pool decking.
• Restoration and Finishing Touches: The bed areas around the retaining wall and basketball court were restored, and the fence panel was reinstalled to complete the project.

The Schultz Family had been impressed by our work for years, seeing our projects at their neighbors’ homes. They specifically reached out due to the reputation of both our work and the character of the business owner, Jason Cory.
